Meditation - is for you
Over the years, I’ve come across many people saying things like “Meditation is not for me, I’m unable to quieten my mind and stop thinking”. Usually, I don’t respond, but I’m hoping that through writing about it, I’ll open up the space for more people to be receptive to giving meditation a go for themselves. A little disclaimer first: I am no guru. My understanding of meditation is something that has evolved through my own on and off spells of practice since my teenage years; that’s roughly 20 years.

While we are in control of ourselves, we aren’t in control of everything around us. It’s important to remember that as people who live and form part of society, we do not live in isolation. Whether we like it or not, it’s important to accept that the world around us affects us and holds some influence over our lives and circumstances.
